Ape TV

Tomorrow, the BBC will broadcast the first film ever to be shot entirely by chimpanzees….and before you ask, no, I don’t mean that pejoratively.

Made as part of a scientific study into how chimpanzees perceive the world and each other, the movie was the brainchild of primatologist Betsy Herrelko and was made using ‘Chimpcams’ -  cameras housed in special ‘chimp-proof’ boxes.

A source at Channel Four informs me that following the success of the experiment, 100 of the chimps have been signed up by Endemol to devise new celebrity reality TV shows.

I think I’m being slowly sucked into a black hole…

…or is it just the supermodel under my desk?

I guess you can put lipstick on it, but a black hole is still a black hole.

It’s a wrap!

Later today, scientists at Cern, finally get to switch on their supercollider, in which atoms will be sent hurtling round in opposite directions, until they smash into each other, with the aim of recreating conditions just prior to the Big Bang.

Some voices within the scientific community are claiming that this may result in the formation of a black hole that could suck in the entire planet, resulting in the end of the world. Well, I always said that when I go, I want it to be in the middle of a big bang. In fact one scientist is so worried that he has taken legal action in a bid to prevent the experiment from going ahead at Cern’s underground facility, deep beneath the French-Swiss border.

I, on the other hand, say look on the bright side, if the world does get sucked into a black hole, at least Switzerland and France will be the first to go.
